If you want to know some interesting information about this subculture, read this:
Gothic is a subculture, which has appeared at the late 70s of the previous century, with the Bauhaus band. Everybody guess, that this subculture was formed after the famous punk subculture.
The main music styles of Gothic are: deathrock (for example, Christian Death), goth rock (the Sisters Of Mercy), post punk (sure, Bauhaus) and darkwave (Diary of Dreams) and industrial (KMFDM or Eisenfunk).
Some examples of Gothic styles:
1) Cybergoths (main clothes and accessories: latex, PVC or vinyl skirts, corsets and tops, fishnets, dreadfalls, goggles, masks, acid colours).

2) Vampire goths (main clothes and accesories): corsets, long skirts, mainly red, white, grey and black colours, long hair).

3) Romantic goths (main things : lace, long skirts, corsets, blouses, chokers and different necklaces, colours: black, white, red and violet mainly)

 

 4) Victorian goths (long dresses with crinolines, corsets, blouses, gloves and jewelry mainly made of lace, colours : green, red, blue, violet, white, brown, black)
